I admit I feel a bit weird being on a big general masto instance, but I was originally on a small one and it shuttered soooo...
Kinda torn there. Part of me wants to roll my own if I find myself still using this in a few months (tbh I probably will - I'm enjoying this space a lot already) but... do I need another project?
I think my other issue with smaller instances is many seem to be focused on specific tastes. My tastes and what I post about is, well... eclectic.
Sometimes tech? Writing? Dioramas? Photography? Flight sims? Submarines?
I also want to avoid instances full of too many Australians, too, so geographic instances don't appeal to me.
To be clear, not because I have an issue with my fellow Australians, but because to me social media is about expanding the things I see. I like following (and generally seeing) people from a wide number of countries, cultures and places if I can manage it.
