From my view in the UK. Given the current situations around the world we NEED a functioning US government, if the war in Ukraine escalates further or if China does invade Taiwan (Which could be mostly media hype), or there are more serious natural disasters, we need a quick response. SO making decisions will be essential when there could be 1000's of lives at risk.
He may not be idea, republican rebels may oppose everything suggested but at some point doing that is going to backfire on them alone for not acting or allowing others to act quickly.
