It is hard to know what the west should do here, one the one hand we should perhaps just get out, and stay out, let the Taliban get on with it, despite the risk of millions dying from starvation and disease.
On the other hand, we send in NGOs, medics, aid workers, who risk being arrested for being women, executed or beaten up for taking head coverings off etc, or for men who could end up being executed for just doing minor things, it is just too risky.
The Taliban clearly 'think' know what they want is best for their people, they don't want any outside help or interference.
