The reactionary government of the U.K. has announced it would rather fuck Scotland than allow further trans-rights.
For the first time since a ruling in 1999, when the Parliament of Scotland was created at Holyrood, that the U.K. Govt at Westminster can veto Scotland's legislation if it may have an "adverse effect" on U.K. laws, Alister Jack, Whitehall's "Secretary of State for Scotland", has issued such an order to not allow Holyrood's "Gender Recognition Reform Bill", which makes it easier for people to have their correct gender recognized legally through a "gender recognition certificate" (GRC).
The bill drops the absurd requirement for a "medical diagnosis" of "gender dysphoria", lowers the requirement to live as the gender they intend to correct to from two years(!!!) to three months if aged ≥18 or 6 months if aged 18-16.
The reactionaries at Whitehall uses the U.K. existing "Equality Act" as a pretext for blocking this long overdue advance for equality, by claiming it "would have an adverse impact on the operation of Great Britain-wide equalities legislation".
So far westminster has not actually elaborated on how this would affect UK laws, so until they do, it is simply a statement. I said this before, if you wrote a paper making a claim and failed to provide evidence, citation etc to back up the claim, your paper would hopefully not make it any further through the publication process, until that was fixed.
