The Daily Mail is owned by a rightwing billionaire, Lord Rothermere. In the 1930s, it was run by his grandfather, who used it to advocate for fascism and support Hitler.
In the 1930s, the paper’s coverage was similar to rightwing media coverage today: advocating for voter suppression, cheerleading for fascists like Putin, attacking the left, describing fascists in “manly” terms.
Most of this could describe Tucker Carlson now:
