Corporations are deciding they need to fall in line with the rising authority to protect future profits; obviously refusing to cooperate in advance might cost them something in the New US. That they thuis help guarantee the success of the dictatorship and destroy their own autonomy (and democracy, btw) is not an item that shows up on quarterly reports.
