We have to fill out a stupid equal opportunity monitoring form, for a job application, I am so tempted to add this

Non-Binary
If I was binary I would be a computer

@zleap serious question from trans supporter thats genuinely curious: so I would like to know an answer in the affirmative in regards to what you are as opposed to what you aren’t. I get fluidity and if you don’t subscribe to the idea of being a man or woman gender, and many people say “non-binary” bc you don’t identify as either of those options, what would be the name of a gender term you do identify with? One would think there would be terms for other genders

@twitterreject

I see myself as Male,

I am on your side in terms of supporting trans, more so recently since being here has opened up posts and allowed me to read how you are under serious threat in the US.

Right now there is Them and US, those who value rights need to stand united in the fight against hatred.

@zleap I feel like there should be names for different gender identities instead of just male or female. Saying non-binary is saying what you aren’t instead of what you are. It’s surprising with all the new terms thatve emerged in last 5-10 years but there aren’t terms for different gender identities along the continuum, just male & female on the ends. You should make up some terms and get them to spread & you can become famous for it

I have to admit, that I found the term 'non-binary' confusing, fro a computing viewpoint, the term binary is historically linked to computers 0s & 1s, So as humans we are 'non-binary'.

This could be seen as a little amusing, however, BUT saying that it is a serious issue, especially to those that the subject directly affects.

But yes we need to decide on names for different genders, apparetly there are now something like 73.

From a Chemistry view point there are cis / trans molecules, which has something to do with the location of say a halogen on an hydrocarbon chain, cis would be on one side, trans would be both sides.

There still needs to be some room for humour.
