Is it jut me that still emails pictures to themselves as I've not worked out a quicker way to get them from phone to desktop? 😒

You could get a nextcloud account from someone like disroot.org, that way items saved to a cloud folder can be available on both desktop and mobile devices, or perhaps set up the same e-mail account on both devices so you can download from your desktop.
