Once again, I'm reminded of how much the billionaire space race has absolutely destroyed my love of rockets.

10 years ago, I definitely would have been paying close attention to the current giant SpaceX launch. But because I know it's going to be used to launch hundreds of unregulated, unsafe, polluting, for-profit Starlink satellites at once, I just can't look.

Instead of being excited and awestruck by a new gigantic rocket launch, it just makes me want to puke.

Those star link satellites are alrady causing huge problems for astronomy, apparently even getting in the way of hubble. We need some sort of international body to regulate space or the use of space.

@zleap @sundogplanets
That would need capitalists to let their governments agree with one another. I won't be holding my breath on that one.

So what can the science community do about this, spacex is driven by profitterring from space, NASA et al are going to the moon for science reasons.

The only reason to send celebrities around the moon is so they can boost their already huge egos further. I see zero scientific benefit to that.

@zleap @sundogplanets

More tickets crash on launch than planes crash on takeoff. If we all pray fervently, who knows how lucky we might be...

@MacropodCare @sundogplanets

No problem, but yeah good point we need a safe way to get there, and back again on a regular basis and some how make sure we have a ready supply of fuel at the moon end.
