Input sanitization?

It's not truly "just 11 people". 11 people submitted the book challenges—but hundreds of people reviewed and accepted the challenges, and tens of thousands carried out the mechanics of the book bans, and millions watched and did nothing

Be the input sanitization you want to see in the world

@saraislet

Can two play at that game?, maybe demand we ban the bible.

@zleap I'd rather change the rules, because books generally shouldn't be banned

Well yeah,

Just looked at this on the BBC website

Call to remove Of Mice and Men from GCSE course

I studied this at school, The book is set in the 1930s so the 'racial slurs used in the book', is a reflection of the 1930s.

While I understand the statement here

"We need to move on and to do things that are inclusive and protect the mental health of our young people, whether black or white."

Surely we can't keep wrapping people in cotton wool to protect them from the evil, horrible world out there. We should be having those difficult conversations and in doing so empowering young people and everyone to actually stand up and fight for what is right, equality, freedom etc.

Given what is going on in Florida and other US states with the banning books, banning abortion and medical treatment for trans people, as we have said on here we need to stop sitting on the side line.

We have already seen attemps to re-write the story of Rosa Parks'

The fact that nearly 100 years after Of Mice adn Men is set, there is STILL racism and insitutional racism probably says so much about what is wrong in the world.

If they can't cope with reading Of mice adn Men, how would they cope reading "The Boy in the striped pyjamas", I have not, or seen the movie, I read the IMDB review earlier, it warns that the movie is upsetting, Maybe both books should be on a COMPULSORY reading list for anyone running to be president (in the US), or prime minister, home secretary in the UK.
