Just a reminder to everyone tweeting about the Canadian wildfires that 3 years ago, Australia was in the grip of as bad, if not worse bushfires (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019–20_Australian_bushfire_season), and NOTHING has been done in the intervening years to actually reduce GHG emissions.
These aren't the "new normal", or "the first signs of climate change". This is climate change. This is our planet dying. This is 1°C warming.
All our politicians seem to do is talk. I also feel that this is more than 1 degree C, we are heading in the UK for a weekend of high (30c) temps. So on this basis we could be heading for much higher temps during the actual summer (July / August)
So this 1.5 degree rise by 2027 (down from 2030) seems to have been breached before the target year.
