i hate that websites all have a floating header now that follows you when you scroll.

because of font size and website zoom, that means on many pages, i have about half the space left for the actual content. HALF. and my zoom isn’t even all that big. i am going to lose my fucking shit one day. just do normal websites again. i do in fact know how to scroll back up if i need the header

begging every website developer to set zoom to 200-300 and/or the minimum font size to 30 and look at their website on various devices.

(personally i usually use 120-140% and a minimum font size of 14, and i ALREADY have these problems.)

(also looking at the mastodon web interface which likes to become totally useless with a 1-line post composer box under the right circumstances)

like, seriously. there is absolutely no reason to waste so much space on bullshit. i hate this modern internet.

also also. if you have font size settings anywhere, and they are capped below 100 pt? try again and do better.

recently had to open a ticket on a messenger github because they capped it at 20. TWENTY. (and for some reason, the 20 in that program was much smaller than the 14 i use in other programs.) that’s not even remotely usable

if your shit is not usable at 70 pt font size it’s not accessible. if it’s not usable at 400% zoom it’s not accessible. some people have shit eyes. stop with the clutter and the floating elements that you cannot scroll away from

this, by the way, is what #mastodon looks like at 400% zoom. approximately 30% of the surface is left for the relevant content. do you suppose visually impaired people enjoy scrolling every time they would like to see the next 5 words?

really not looking forward to the time in my life when i’m going to need this because clearly, virtually nobody in interested in fixing this shit
