Astronomers Scan 11,680 Nearby Stars for Signals from Advanced Civilizations
The Universe is a vast place, and humanity's search for signals from extraterrestrial civilizations is still in its infancy; however, astronomers just scanned a significant portion of our corner of the Milky Way, hoping to hear any evidence that we're not alone. They directed the 100-meter Green Bank Telescope at 62 TESS objects of interest and observed 11,860 stars and planetary systems nearby. Although they didn't detect any signals, they concluded that are probably no transmitters within a few hundred light-years of Earth.

@zleap @fraser it's why they stealth their transmissions near us 😉
