Personally I can't wait for PMQs to start back up, this lot have so many questions.
Saying that, this case could prove interesting
Andrew Malkinson: Government announces inquiry into wrongful rape conviction
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-66606328
The justice secretary said the inquiry would examine the actions of the Crown Prosecution Service, Greater Manchester Police and the Criminal Cases Review Commission over the past 20 years.
so past 20 years this would make it 2003 to 2023, according to
https://www.politics.co.uk/reference/keir-starmer/
"In 2008, Starmer was named the new head of the Crown Prosecution Service and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). During his time as DPP, the CPS prosecuted the two men accused of murdering 18-year-old Stephen Lawrence. However during the same period, the CPS has been criticized for failing to effectively prosecute the TV entertainer Jimmy Saville. Starmer was said not to be directly involved in the case.
"
So it will be interesting to see if Sir Kier gets called to give evidence to the inquiry.
The Tories will of course weaponise all this to highlight Failings at the CPS, in an attempt to deflect their own failings. however in the case of Andrew Malkinson it is clear questions need to be asked, and answers need to be given as to what happened and why.
