@APBBlue the truly scary thing is 3d printed guns.

Literally made of plastic and undetectable by metal detectors.

Scarier is an early model they tested, they ran out of ammo before it failed. Fired hundreds of rounds successfully.

Maybe ammo is still detectable, but there's a dark future coming

Some bB guns have plastic balls, they can still cause serious injury.

@zleap @APBBlue sure, even paint balls can take out eyes.

I'm def not a gun person but I think with regular ammo, given the powder explosion you'd melt a plastic casing in the barrel rendering it basically a one shot device.

One shot is one too many, but clip is worse.

Another concern is the plans for these end up on the internet, downloaded in countries such as ther UK, guns made, and used, gun is pretty much untraceable.

@zleap @APBBlue been available online for literally years. That horse is long gone.

And it's a significant 1st A issue at least in the US. A 3d model isnt a gun anymore than a detailed written set of construction steps for a metal one is.

This is a societal level problem unfortunately and a big one.

@pixelpusher220 @APBBlue

The west is self destructing, Putin is probably biding his time so once America has self destructed and civil war breaks out, 10s of millions will die and Russia or China et al will just move in and take over.

@zleap @APBBlue at least in the US it 'seems' like our right wing is self destructing slightly faster so we may yet figure something out
