That suspending aid was even considered, and remains a possibility, is mind-boggling. If the goal is to punish Hamas, stopping European aid makes no sense. The EU and its member states do not fund Hamas.

Indeed, sending goods such as water. medicine etc in via aid agencies means they get used by aid agencies to help the people.
These good can't easily be sold by Hamas to raise money for arms.
