I really wish WhatsApp would vanish one day.
I cannot stress how horrible that platform is
When I first started this job, I wrongly presumed either Messenger or Instagram would be because. Because I thought, what people could do in "private" would somehow top things or because the other platform was mostly photos, that I would see more horrify things there
But instead, WhatsApp, the platform, I, myself, never used, and assumed only a small percentage did in comparison to everything, is worse
I guess I underestimated how much worse people can be when they think that not only is everything supposedly "private" but also encrypted, and of course, supposedly anonymous.
WhatsApp truly is where some of the worst things are shared and where people check their humanity at the door.
There are also so many people I feel sorry for.
You cannot imagine how many people are bullied and picked on while using WhatsApp. Not just kids, but grown adults too. There is also some human trafficking.
Which is why governments want an end to end 2 end encryption, even though there are groups who need it (people like reporters in some countries) and others for their work or just to keep safe from harm.
