I saw an ADHD influencer video saying that ADHD people need to have things in their view or they will forget about them, which is true, but the explanation was like a horrible game of telephone. She said it was because they have object permanence, which is true, for basically everyone older than nine months. She misunderstood the misconception that people with ADHD do not have object permanence. They are not babies who get freaked out by a game of peekabo. A person with ADHD has a limited working memory, and if something is out of sight, it's out of mind. They don't think it ceases to exist. They forget about it.
Why are people getting a diagnosis from social media influencers, surely people need a diagnosis from a qualified professional?

Ok the DM tends to be full of nonsense at times. But surely anyone with ADHD or symptoms of may be vulnerable and could fall victim to exploitation when they are worried about symptoms.
