@freemo My other project is a Potentiometer board

I made this as pushing potentiometers in to breadboards can make the holes too big, however with the headers I can attach leads from a multi meter (you can get some that can clip on to headers) which is handy, this one has 1k 10k and soon 5k,

@freemo THis is a small project to build a modiule to help determine Plankcks Constant.

I got the instructions from cleapss.org.uk/ who produce resources for schools. The idea is that you power this, up and can light up either the RED Yellow, Orange (Once soldered on) Green and Blue LEDs, the potentiometer (1k) allows brightness to be adjusted, measure voltage across the lED, then from all that + the wavelength of the light (from daa sheet) you can calculate or Plankcs Constant.

I cant' share the instructions as they are copyright, i downloaded this while on work experience at a school as I also downloaded other resources in relation to a short course I did during the work experience.

Orange Light Emitting Diodes have now arrived. I can now complete my module that helps to determine Planck's Constant. However before i fire up my soldering iron for this, I am waiting for some 5k potentiometers which I need to complete my little potentiometer board. So may as well solder everything up at the same time.

@ScienceDaily@newsbots.eu Surely it will solve the problem ONLY if we stop producing new plastic.

We need to get rid of what we have, find alternatives to plastic & stop producing new plastic

Get online week is underway, this is a initiative i n the UK to get people online.

However looking at their e-mail they employ tracking so clearly privacy is not in their vocabulary.

@jmw150 @stux

Well I think this is about sticking up for all free software users otherwise everyone else will just think it is fine to violate any free license, be it GPL, AGPL, Creative Commons etc.

@stux

Well, looks like it is time for the FSF to do the main thing it is charity money is used for, suing companies that cross them.

@Graylik@mastodon.technology @Gargron

First impressions count so lets make sure people have good experience-

Found this, the old account of Wil Wheaton, which is what i referred to earlier. People know about this and judge the whole fedi accordingly.

Trumps "social" network is probably violating at least one FLOSS license.

@technicallypossible

Well great way to educate the masess.

We can enforce the AGPL and risk people just coming on any instance instead (making more work for admins)

We can just ignore it, and set a bad presidence to others that violate the AGPL

We could nicely advise him to abide by the GPL

We wait till he has a few million users then enforce, which could cause them a lot of issues and probably come here and start problems.

Or we just do nothing so that we can keep the peace, keep his followers OFF the rest of the internet, and make statements that it is easier to ignore a violation than to incur more problems later.

Trumps "social" network is probably violating at least one FLOSS license.

Mastodon is licensed AGPL so any source code modifications must be made available under the AGPL. Proprietary source code modifications that are kept from the public are a big no-no.

@neko @stux

This is fine for those of us here who understand that. The issue will be the masses who don't and will form their own ideas etc.

I would suspect you are right otherwise Trumps new pet project would not last very long on here with everyone blocking him.

Like with my comment about Trump inventing this, we need to ensure we have a robust, consistent response to statements to the contrary of what the 'actual' situation is.

Will be fun, but like most people here we probably have better things. May be a good idea to put a statement out (once we know the situation ) so that we can refer people to it, but that can also be found with a simple ddg search, that way we can also say we don't have time to argue with people too bone idle ( or dumb) to research this.
