Londoner solves 20,000-year Ice Age drawings mystery
A London furniture conservator has been credited with a crucial discovery that has helped understand why Ice Age hunter-gatherers drew cave paintings.
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-64162799
"Ben Bacon analysed 20,000-year-old markings on the drawings, concluding they could refer to a lunar calendar.
It led to a specialist team proving early Europeans made notes about the timing of animals' reproductive cycles."
If I print off text, laminate and use a hole punch, I can attach a self made label to a cable, handy to quickly id, as for some reason, most cables are black, so when one has a PC with Power, Vga or HMDI, keyboard, mouse being able to quickly id each is a pain.
Oddly we used to have coloured ends to plug in, so purple IIRC was erm keyboard, now why can't we standardise on a single colour for a set use, so keyboards all have the same colour cable (regardless of who makes them) that could make life a LOT easier.

Question: is there something similar to Flo Mask available in the UK? Especially in terms of masks with a seal and room for glasses. I have a very high nose bridge + a very pointy nose so a good fit is important.
I have FFP3 masks with a rubber seals and they're fantastic, but they're huge for my face and I can't wear glasses at all with them on so it's not very suitable for every day life.
I appreciate any boosts for visibility!

California's endangered winter-run Chinook salmon just had their worst spawning season ever. Scientists suspect the decline was driven by heavy feeding on anchovies, leading to thiamine deficiency. Egg-to-fry survival was the lowest ever recorded.

There has to be something more going on here, there are lots of people who want to see the west fall, and lots of enemies, I hate to mention Prince Harry as I am sick of all media coverage ( I generally switch off). He has given the Taliban and their allies a big reason to attack the west in some way, thanks to his choice of words on comparing taliban fighters to picking off chess pieces, totally irrisponsible.
We need to improve cyber security and are paying the price for NOT investing in these skills properly.

"In the past 24 hours, the world has learned of serious breaches hitting chat service Slack and software testing and delivery company CircleCI, though giving the companies' opaque wording—“security issue” and “security incident,” respectively—you'd be forgiven for thinking these events were minor": First LastPass, now Slack and CircleCI. From my view in the UK. Given the current situations around the world we NEED a functioning US government, if the war in Ukraine escalates further or if China does invade Taiwan (Which could be mostly media hype), or there are more serious natural disasters, we need a quick response. SO making decisions will be essential when there could be 1000's of lives at risk.
He may not be idea, republican rebels may oppose everything suggested but at some point doing that is going to backfire on them alone for not acting or allowing others to act quickly.

It's two months since I joined up properly to Mastodon, and today I've just moved the icon for my preferred app to the home page on my phone. It must be serious.

If you’re at the right place at the right time, with the right equipment, this is possible.
Last night, with guidance from https://transit-finder.com/, I positioned myself along the narrow line where the International #SpaceStation would pass between me and the nearly full moon.
I used a Fujifilm X-T4 shooting 4K video through a Celestron 8” SCT to capture the pass. Then, back at the computer this morning, put together these views with PIPP, Registax, and GIMP.
Quite pleased. My best yet.
