What he is doing to disney in Florida shows he is authoritarian , Disney world opened in 1971 . The US has gone from Democrat to Republican several times, with no threats made to Disney, DeSantis comes along and pretty much declares war on them, because of their Autonomy from the state.

Was it written in invisible ink, now that is an idea, a print cartridge that contains invisible ink, you could then write documents on a computer, print only the text would not be readable until you say breath on the paper or similar.

I have an ask of each of you.

Saturday morning I suddely collapsed and lost consciousness.  I apparently experienced sudden cardiac arrest.

We don't know why yet.  I didn't have a heart attack, stroke, or pulmonary embolus, and I don't have cardiomyopathy, heart failure, or any known heart disease.

I tell you this because you never know when someone's life depends on you.

My ask:  get #CPR trained and stay current with training.

@AE4WX

And join a campaign to get a defibrillator as many buildings as possible so there is always one nearby.

Just a reminder that documents that have been leaked and are perhaps widely distributed on the web retain their classification. If you download or view those documents, even though widely available, you would be in possesion of a classified document

So unless you like poking fate, don't download or read the stuff that has been leaked.

“The NHS is using a US surveillance tech company owned by a billionaire Trump donor to process hundreds of datasets – some of which are being shared with private sector firms.”

Is this how we want it data to be used?
I don’t remember being she’ asked.

'Researchers expect that the extensive molecular and clinical data that they produce will help to uncover more about the mechanisms of Alzheimer’s. “Evidence so far points to tau as the initiator of Alzheimer’s symptoms, disabilities and eventually death,” says Boxer. “But this hypothesis needs to be tested in humans.”

Article 6 (right to a fair hearing), interesting that in the UK it has taken so long for some rape cases to come to court and trial the victims have given up. So not sure how long the court consider acceptable but the UK could potentially be taken to court over this alone.

@kasilas @kaffando @mercedesallen

Thanks for this, Will check out he pie chart on my main computer later (bigger screen). It is interesting and you're right the press here barely report on this unless it is a ruling against the UK.

@zleap @kaffando @mercedesallen Hungary does a hell of a lot loss at the ECHR than the UK.

In 2021, the rate of finding against Hungary was 94% (the UK's rate is 58%). Admittedly, in the UK, this is hidden because the UK press massively focuses on rulings against the UK.

I am not a lawyer, but people have sued for slander. It would probably depend on the juristiction.

@SweaterVest@mastodon.cloud

This seems to be having a detrimental effect on people taking up Science for example, both academically or from a career viewpoint. A lot of subjects are still male dominated, and this needs to be addressed, as a diverse workforce brings in different mindsets, and ways of solving problems.

Perhaps we do need to segregate genders, so that people can get on with things without distraction.

Ultimately we probably need to go in to schools at the right time, and give info on where the skills shortages are, and what you need to study to fill those roles, we have a huge need for doctors and nurses, scientists, engineers etc our education system, should in part be promoting that to encourage children to not only study, but see the value in studying those subjects, then teach those topics to a high standard but also encourage self study and development.

Find role models for everyone and ensure there are posters or displays up that celebrate diversity.

@autonomysolidarity

So why has the ECHR not intervened in this? In the UK they would. BUT in the UK, we have organistions that would stand up and bring cases before the ECHR in order to protect the group(s) that are affected by leglislation for example.

Given the UK Government’s deeply concerning and increasingly antidemocratic and authoritarian tendencies, concerned citizens need to better understand the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) – and know that it was driven by Britons in the aftermath of WWII.

Some people talk about the European Convention of Human Rights as if it was forced on the unwilling British by Europe but the reality may surprise you:

@kaffando @mercedesallen

Good point there, in the UK we tried to send migrants to Rwanda and got stopped by the ECHR, and yet the same court seems to allow Hungary to do what it wants, but we have seen a far right increase in Italy, France too.

Seems people are simply in denial.
