Sounds like an interesting idea,
The Hidden Benefits of Large Science Projects https://www.universetoday.com/161799/the-hidden-benefits-of-large-science-projects/
Scary stuff, I will take a longer look at the article later.
Cybercriminals now need as little as three seconds of someone's voice to successfully clone it and make it usable in a scam call thanks to generative AI tools, researchers at McAfee have found. https://t.co/3zVwjK84Ly

40 to 70 % does touch on a large number of users, so yea I would support fedi block, however we could do with a short paragraph we can share on our blogs etc as to why meta Activty Pub instances are blocked.
Based on experiences of ourselves and or others META is not consdiered to be a responsible entitiy who put the interests of users (safety, welfare, etc) above profits, track users, misuse data, allow vulnerable people to see adverts, be victims of horrific bullying, trolling, and abusive behaviours including grooming, coercive control and enabling this despite tools being in place and being used, people still come to harm.
We simply don't trust META
We are PEOPLE and not here to be exploited for PROFIT
@chrismessina @zleap @Gargron @tonyg @alexeheath wanted to circle back to this comment where you point out that each server can set up its own rules with respect to federating with Meta.
Here's another problem with this thinking, beyond my original reply to @Gargron: virtually no admins have told their users what they plan to do, despite the fact that the multiple polls I've seen show that between 40-70% of users want to outright Fediblock any Meta instance.
Meta has done absolutely horrific things, for decades.
What happened to the principle of informed consent for users? https://mstdn.patatas.ca/@smallpatatas/110533043724390295
Ah, it was more of a reference to the fact that recent gun incidents has seen innocent people shot dead for going to the wrong house, it seems in most of these cases purely unintentionally.
However if the majority of these people are white, it may be that they are a little safer.
We need another column, what the billionaires and corporations care about.
If all y'all want to take away any one lesson from watching site after site enshittify, it should be this:
Never. Trust. The. Money. Men.
Sooner or later, they're going to demand you take your great product that you worked so hard on, all the users and communities you've carefully built, and squeeze all the joy and life out of them in exchange for profits. And if you won't do it, they'll replace you with someone who will.
We desperately need to find better ways to fund and manage our communities and public spaces. Crowdfunding. Co-ops. Nonprofits. Whatever. But stop trusting VCs with your brilliant ideas to try and meet a need that the world has. Eventually, they're going to fuck you and everyone who trusted you over in order to get their money.
@cdarwin Do they provide bullet proof vests as part of the safety kit for door knocking. ?

This of course is going to have a knock on effect for Black, Brown and I guess polar bears, for whom Salmon and other fish are, I think a Major food source. Nice going humans.
Well hopefully they will be the subject of some decent enforcement, otherwise they will just keep doing this.
@zleap As I mentioned else where, I'm literally in the airport in Oslo coming back from a EU-backed conference where we showed a PoC of Zero/First-party only recommendations and the right to be forgotten built into IKEA.com - I'm very familiar with what Reddit have just done.
