This was a common in the UK a few years ago, peole used the term to use the word 'gay' to be it is rubbish or not very good, cool etc. However the UK moved on from that. I agree and would add the person using that language needs to understand not everyone understands their meaning or context and it can be misconstrued or interpreted, the onus should be on the person using that language to explain their meaning.

Of course if you are listening to older music, from say 50s / 60's then the meaning of 'gay' may mean something like happy,

@NewsDesk

Just another week in the US of A.

@dangillmor

Right now there are two battles on front is with the environment and dealing with climate change, the other battle is with the far right and facists in the US. Good luck to you. Maybe open up a new front, get rid of mainstream social medial, so peole come here and learn what is actually going on, learn it is evidence based and people talk sense, and post to actual evidence. It will shock people.

@GottaLaff @emptywheel

Oh Elmo = Elon Musk, hey Elmo (assuming you mean Elmo from Sesame Street) is far nicer, more considerate and respectful then Musk will ever be.

@lucifargundam @trinsec @freemo @feditips
