If you needed yet another reason to block ads, Israeli cyber companies developed technology that exploits the advertising system at the heart of the online economy to monitor civilians, hack into their phones and computers, and spy on them.

*Rant* Back in the UK from Delhi and my Virgin flight left something to be desired.
Damaged seats which needed help to return upright. Two of the four loos were partially damaged. The chicken and pasta was so dry you could sand down the seats into a sculpture. And the they ran out of juice and cokes. - I’ve never heard of a plane running out of drinks before!
Earlier this summer, we flew back from Bangkok with EVA, everything was perfect 👏👍
Perhaps the Virgin team may want to try EVA and see the difference 🤷♂️

"My message, not only to the teenagers but the families, is that first of all, they deserve to live in a place that's welcoming, that's affirming, and that supports them," Pritzker said. "We provide that kind of care in Illinois."
Thank you, Illinois lawmakers and especially Gov. J.B. Pritzker.
(His cousin is an out trans woman)
Would it be nice if the political elite could grow up and start putting the American people first, address problems and concerns they have build a better country through respect and cooperation.
Instead politicians are too interested in point scoring than caring what people need.
The UK isn't much better either.
Great stuff. I am tagging in
@mastodonsports
So we can build a sport community on here too.

I work with 23/24-year-old students who worry about screwing up their lives from one wrong choice. And I have to tell them, “Don’t worry, you have lots of time to make many wrong choices that will screw up your lives.”
According to the BBC news, there were 2 dams, badly maintained, the higher dam failed, the force of the water caused the 2nd dam to fail too, then the town was overrun with water.
The finger of blame is being poited squarely at the government of libya and also the various war lords trying to gain control of the country or parts of the country, the authorities were warned about this several times, they ignored and this is / was the result.
Just shared a link on my blog, I am not sure if the just stop oil antics are working, I think people need to fight this in the courts.

Incredible WSJ article on Exxon's efforts to prevent action on #climate change.
“If a worldwide consensus emerges that action is needed to mitigate against Greenhouse gas effects, substantial negative impacts on Exxon could occur,” wrote Sprow [Exxon's head of Research]. “Any additional R&D efforts within Corporate Research on Greenhouse should have two primary purposes: 1. Protect the value of our resources (oil, gas, coal). 2. Preserve Exxon’s business options.”
I dunno gulls do it all the time. The way to avoid is to keep food covered and out of site

Too much of our fediverse discussions revolve around a single app: Mastodon. It’s just the very beginning. Think of it as the Wright Brother’s first canvas-covered aircraft. It proved we now know how to make messages fly on federated networks. Many are now building new aircraft to fly on them.
So will it work with a proper OS ?
