"I cannot succinctly convey how interesting I find this.... The large-scale change of one of the basic premises of internet design, from a peer-to-peer system to a strictly client-server system, happened by accident."

1.. Stay positive, which is hard I know.
2 Try and tailor your resume so that it reflects the skills you have and how they relate to a job.
Network here too, what roles are you looking for? What skills do you have, people may be able to help.

I am really, really at my wit’s end regarding job hunting. Nowhere seems willing to hire me - not even the places I thought I was qualified for. I don’t have nearly enough money to pay my share of rent, the landlord is talking about raising rent or we might have to move. I don’t know what to do.
For jobs, I don’t even get interviews. The one place I had an interview with I just got rejected. I’ve been looking since May. What should I even do?

I have some exciting professional news to share!
The Sloan Foundation has generously funded "Collaborating on Software Archiving for Institutions" #CoSAI, with 3 streams of work:
1) technical development on open source, decentralized toolkit for software archiving & replay; 2) community building and education on software archiving; and 3) optimizing machine and human workflows
Psyched that this is a big collaborative project, feat. the one and only @wilkie
@a_lizard@mastodon.social That is all you need to do at first, look up with the naked eye and identify what is there, once you find planets or constellations you use them to help find other harder to find constellations.
You just need clear skies and moonless nights to avoid glare
@dansup Could be a feature that gerts more new users.

Plymouth shooting: Suspected gunman and five others die
@yogthos@mastodon.social Why !!!, Surely it is useful to track how misinformation is spreading so it can be countered, or perhaps Facebook wants to spread misinformation.
We need to invite these researchers here perhaps @freemo any suggestions on how we can do that.
