@pluralistic I guess you need to experience other systems first, otherwise you are demanding change but people than ask what to. ?

@MedBel I used Libretranslate and posted here in English

"facebook concealed a transparency report for fear of harming its image

facebook publishes its transparency report to show things that are popular on its network. Now it appears that the company would not have taken this transparency too seriously and would have hidden a previous report."

@selea I guess also lack of expertise or willingness to pay people to move existing content to a new future proof system too.

Or rjust plain incompetence

@selea Makes you wonder if they know what they are talking about, try asking why given flash was depreciated 2+ years ago for security reasons.

My wife is taking a course in "Information Security"

They require you to run flash in order to access to course.

@info_activism Which s why I like the fediverse users get involved in the direction we go in

Indeed, We need to look at the underlying cause of mental health issues. Of course, prescribing people a walk in the park doesn't make drug companies huge profits.

I watched a documentary a few years ago, doctor tried meditation with a young person with ADHD as an alternative to Ritalin, his appetite was better, better sleep and better at school, no drugs needed.

The meditation helped with breathing and relaxing. it seemed to work.

Looking at the side effects of Ritalin it is scary, (cite the Materials Safety Data Sheet) lots of what look like nasty side effects (neurological damage for example)

We banned hitting kids with the cane in what it seems in favour of using drugs, I appreciate caning is not legal but are these kids any better off being pumped (or fed ) with drugs that cause unseen internal damage.

In some cases perhaps one of the causes of ADHD is all the additives and chemicals added to food.

@paulsutton As this is federated from my website as I was sharing a video from a post here, the original post and current discussion is here

@RTP Thing is why are people committing suicide in the first place, surely we need to find that out and address that rather then trying to solve everything with drugs or chemicals.

Maybe it is our lifestyles, or in the pandemic long isolation during the pandemic. So a chance in how we live could be in order to resolve some of these issues.

@stux @freemo Ok i will watch the video, but I assume that it would be possible to adjust the gravty level if artificial, Tuvok did this on learning Curve (ST Voager) to help teach his recruits to be ready for any conditions. I think Mars has less gravity, it may be that you set the gravity closer to that of Mars or reduce slowly en route, so by the time you get there, you body has adapted.
