Article suggests mastodon is vulnerable, so reputational damage needs to be limited.

As I said to @freemo just poor reporting and technology knowledge.

if this is based on Mastodon, is this an older version or are there some genuine security concerns here that can affect other instances.

In my e-mail to south west grid for learning i did mention it would be really useful to help people like the samaritans on here, granted tehy can't directly help over seas users but they can ask the right questions, reassure people and then put them in touch with people local to that person (confidentially of course)

@ern@mstdn.social How can we get them here, I was trying to hep someone the other day all I could say was talk to someone.

My main argument to them is so I can signpost people to help, given people here are not going to join twitter or facebook so they can ask for help with say mental health or other issues that are worrying them.
