The US should take note of the film day after tomorrow, in that the population of the US floods over the US border in to Mexico. even the news reporter on the film comments on that.
We need a remake or another similar film to allow for Trumps border wall, a huge tornado or flood, fording people people south and can't get past the border wall.
The quality of games made by China these days is so high it's scary.
The transition from cutscene to ingame is too natural and too cool.

@Ricardus LOL Facebook AI = Absent Intelligence :D
@newsbot I kinda got the impression that sleep was essential generally for the whole body, not just for the brain.
Sounds like interesting research though.
Scientists are studying the sleep habits of brainless creatures, upending previous assumptions that sleep exists primarily for the benefit of the brain, Elizabeth Pennisi reports for @ScienceMagazine.

We need to fight back or at least stand up for oursleves if mistreated. Equality means we should not mis treat women, but equally women should not mis treat men.
> Still, can we be surprised that after years of being told they are the problem, that their manhood is the problem, more and more men are withdrawing into the enclave of idleness, and pornography, and video games.
Huh, I was just doing it because I'm lazy/chaotic/disobedient, horny, and like games. Destroying the fundamentalists' idea of what "masculine" is, is a completely incidental bonus.
Birthday suits fit perfectly :D

@derek The more you know about something the more people pester you for help, which they expect for free.
Better off knowing little, but alot about how to look things up.
If I write a blog post on how to do something, i make more actual references to where I got info from.
One solution is, if asked if you can help someone is to reply you can't afford my rates. :D that seems to work.

@kadin @ajroach42 Well back in the 80;s dos took over then Windows on desktop computers.
Linux was great, an actual multi user system. By which time windows had got a huge foothold and was pre-installed on computers.
@ajroach42 In retrospect, one of the most regrettable parts of the "PC revolution" is how much wheel-reinvention happened due to disconnects between large systems people and micro/PC people.
E.g. the high watermark of hardware-enforced security in operating systems is arguably still Multics…developed 1964-67. Just one example.
So much knowledge from the development of large multiuser systems was ignored or not known to PC developers, and we now live with the consequences.

@ajroach42 What is the Mastodon performance like. ?
It's frustrating when a 10 year old computer can't get on facebook or watch 480p on youtube anymore, even thought it could five years ago.
The computer hasn't changed.
Facebook and youtube have become more complicated. They didn't need to, but they could get more complicated because the average computer got faster, and the average internet connection got faster over that time span.
So a computer that could do X lost it's ability to do X as a result of a third party.
That's frustrating.
