Today is Aaron Swartz birthday. Because of him, we have Creative Commons (development), Reddit (co-founder), Watchdog.net, Open Library, DeadDrop, Progressive Change Campaign Committee, Demand Progress (co-founder), ThoughtWorks, and Tor2web.

I am not sure what you are getting at here sorry/
@FailForward @piggo Yes, but won't that imply we are one entity ?

The Incel thing seems to be an extreme form of hatred of women, but that hatred has to come from somewhere.
@FailForward @thor @shibao @evelyn
I will add men / boys,. to this.

There seems to be an assumption men can cope with mental health issues and those that can't seem to be considered weak and wimps.
Also this expectation then also leads men with MH issues to probably feel worse about
themselves.
We could see this as sexist, as if someone said women are just weak we would be branded a Misogynist
The term Misandry is prejudice or hatred of men is seldom used in the media, and yet there are probably good examples of this
Come on! That's not what I meant. Write for men - actually I think it's a brilliant idea and I support it. You are right, there's not much specifically tailored to male audience in this department.
I just tried to prompt you to slow down on the thought path of "men have it so bad, the world is unjust, etc." Doesn't sound like a good start of a useful mental health advice column to me...
Personally, when seeking information on psychology, it never even crossed my mind that it's gender non-neutral. But perhaps my obliviousness to this can be explained by me focusing on more scientifically leaning literature, rather than popular advice columns.
Having said that, I do indeed see a lot of value in more laymen pop advice on psychology targeting male audience.

@piggo If we can make people curious about one aspect of fedi, they may go further. so Mastodon may lead them to peertube for example either through asking about posting videos or seeing an embedded peertube video.
So following on from my previous idea.
When I attended a online safety course, I was given an activity to identify various games, social media platforms from their logos e.g the usual suspects, plus games and stuff kids use.
I am trying to put something similar together that has logos of things like Linux distros (mint, debian), fediverse instance logos (mastodon, peertube, pleroma, pixelfed, software giimp,
It could be a good way to start a discussion and also if anyone here is teaching it is a good way to figure out what people know already.
@piggo Indeed, I am trying to find a way or come up with something that addresses that
one of the big things on mainstream is FOMO or Fear Of Missing Out. What sort of needs to happen here is people need to perhaps be made to feel they are missing out on something (which in a way they are)
I have a 2nd idea which I will also post about.
Trying to promote Mastodon, and taking some inspiration from mainstream social media.
A lot of companies / businesses / people have something like
"find us on Facebook, then the Fb Logo we need something similar on here.
So rather than having Find us on Mastodon, perhaps we should use Locate is on Mastodon. followed by that users fed id
@user@name.social type thing.
We need to be similar but not the same if that makes sense.
@paulsutton Just sharing a few of the posts here on jobs, using the embed feature.
It's a shame that the local community interest company CIC don't reply to e-mails as some of their clients may find these interesting.
