@rixty_dixet In fact lets make that point really clear you don't need to be technical to share ideas, and your experiences. Let the techies work out how to implement stuff, they need to know what to implement.

@rixty_dixet I am not technical enough to write code for the fedi, but what I can do is be part of the discussion to make changes or at least put some input.

@zleap feeling sorry for yourself is useless... change things, that's the only way to improve the world XD

everyone complains that the internet is shit.... how many of them are (for example) working for a decentralized internet, maybe NOT needing servers and "connection costs"... (i think none, or an irrelevant number). this is the problem 😀

@rixty_dixet Indeed, one of the reasons I repost stuff from here to my blog but also make a point (or try to ) of saying the info came from here. I am on the activity social hub forum, but really feel there needs to be more of us to bounce ideas around.

@rixty_dixet All we can do is share share share these stories, articles etc, at least we can say 'told you so'

The nice thing about the Data Detox stuff is that we can also try and run workshops to help educate too.

@rixty_dixet I ffeel sorry for kids today, as adults we have created the internet, a resource for learning and sharing and other adults ahve turned it in to a place that is more worried about money and profit, than protecting the most vulnerable people on it.

Sadly despite trying to sahre what facebook are doing, the fact they see children as there to exploit, people just carry on using it.

@rixty_dixet I think we may have better luck talking to a brick wall.

@zleap you're right... now go explain it to everyone else and good luck XD

@rixty_dixet

Hmm, is that an excuse when your child rapes another child, you have kids, you take responsibility for them or I dunno don't have kids.

@rixty@social.outsourcedmath.com I would share this with some of the people in the UK who deal with child protection (inc local agecies) but msot don't reply to e-mail so won't waste my time.

Rather worrying state of affairs this, not sure what the solution is other than we need better education and people (inc parents ) ave got to teach kids right from wrong and how to behave, by setting the example.

I wrote to Lidl Great Britain Ltd today to ask about the use of plastic to wrap cola cans and ask if they could switch over to cardboard or something more sustainable.

Small things, that people can do to hopefully make the world more single use plastic free.

Back at Trojans rookie camp yesterday, need to remember some measurements for Sunday 10 yards = 30 feet, so I can mark out a pitch with yard makers.

Not heard any more about organisations supporting mental health joining the Mastodon / peertube or the fediverse.

Maybe to get MH support you need to be on mainstream social media, which oddly is the cause of a lot of Mental health issues.

@kensanata I am sure at one time updates were done in a more controlled way to avoid problems that are usually unforeseen.
