Looking at this link to NASA posted by @stux

How the hell does Facebook manage rename itself META when most websites have a section already called META. for the links underneath.

Are they going to force any website to remove that name on the accusation it may cause confusion?

@stux Cool thanks for this :)

@abloo

Are you able to contact the server owner to ask for this to be implemented or enabled.

I can see why it is more difficult to interpret.

@schratze

I am using debian so can still just run apt update apt upgrade -y manually when needed

Auto updates are meant to make the process easier for new users. But is still hand holding, doing things manually means you can hold off, doing so, until say important assignment is handed in.

@SuperDicq +1 it is good to see other parts of fedi learning and adapting features of other services.

To add they could always transfer her to a prison in say China or North Korea for a week or so and she can compare the two.

Then reflect on how LUCKY she is.

@AnotherStag

It shows how those who are self entitled think the law can't touch them.

Ghislaine Maxwell is described as a socialite, what exactly does this mean ?

I think it was a NY judge who reminded Abu Hamza (the guy with the hook) he was in Prison not a hotel when he complained about the conditions.

@person

We tend to put a lot of focus on bits of paper as evidence of competence and yet in a lot of cases the opposite is the case.

You can't directly teach things like common sense, commitment to a cause, empathy it seems to be

Those of us who have suffered abuse know what it is like so have empathy with others who are suffering abuse.

I am sick of hearing that kids are being bulled, teachers have failed to stop it and kept their jobs / careers / pensions.

In aplace of work the employers have a duty of care, if they fail they can be sued, prosecuted or both.

If we could sue teachers for damages things would change, and quick.

When it comes to bullying for example this is something many teachers simply DO NOT get. TO them it is part of growing, up.

Well news for those who think that bullying is normal part of growing up. Puberty is part of growing up, being bullied and abused by others IS NOT part of growing up.

I am not sure, but to me the current problem of migrants coming across in small boats, across the busiest shipping lane in the world (English channel) should be more about human welfare.

The people smugglers are making huge amounts of money (probably tax free) to give people a small boat and set them off from France, They have their money so they don't care if that small dinghy gets hit by a shipping container, and everyone is killed.

Undocumented migration also means these people are at risk of exploitation work, sexual exploitation, they are not here, are told the police will throw then in jail so they are at the mercy of low paid, dangerous work, with no rights or even modern day slavery.

The UK is short on
Drivers HGV
Warehouse workers
Doctors
Nurses
other lower and higer skilled jobs

We NEED immigration, so make it easier get them here, get them work ready (e,g background checks for some jobs) or certified to work here, then get them out there to fill the jobs.

In the meantime, target people smugglers so we send a clear message sending ;people via dangerous / deadly means won't be tolerated and making thousands won't do YOU as a smuggler any good in PRISON.

Saying that I was having a few issues a few weeks ago at Football training, trying to convert feet in to yards so that I can put yard markers on the field.

@CKsTechnologyNews

There has to be some sort of alternative funding stream.
