@dsfgs @fediverse
If as a fediverse we were to develop some sort of training course in order to help new users, either use fedi, or for them to help develop to team up with a local CIC (community interest company) we need to fill out this survey

eatthatfrog.ac.uk/ - > links to their survey

surveymonkey.co.uk/r/FF5SC5D

Which to me looks like a pile of complex business techno twaddle.

This just assumes that anyone wanting to partner them is UK based of course.

@lucifargundam @icedquinn

That is understandable if people locally won't fill the roles you have to look elsewhere at people who will fill those roles / positions.

@zleap @icedquinn
I've heard many reasons- I'm not sure on a single generalisation.

The formerly unemployed I know if personally are taking advantage of the openings being made.

I wouldn't be surprised if immigrants, refugees and other desperate people started picking up where other people left off.

>> They took my job!
<< MF, you left and I had a small business to run- they deserve it.

@zleap @ij @gitea @aral @codeberg

I don't think the platform itself is connected to the Fediverse.

But I think Gitea is working on federation? And Codeberg uses Gitea? (Not sure if this would link to Fedi though or whether it's just federation of gits)

@icedquinn
Meanwhile- many businesses in the US are facing a shortage of staff as people stop working altogether.

Rumors are that legislation will soon pass that unless people prove they were actively job hunting, they'll have to pay back unemployment via tax returns.

@Moon @fcktheworld587
I think it shows that to get to a certain place you need to be nasty and push people out of the way to get there. No one is going to do that part for you.

So to promote the fedi we need to keep building a good platform then perhaps really push it to people.

@alienghic Another reason I want toget people on here with some expertise in this area, not just here but on the activitypub forum so we can make fedi better based on real evidence.

@alienghic

I think it is a combination of things, people feel insecure or are under pressure to look / dress in a certain way.

I have seen reports that girls who feel bad (or just insecure) about how they look. Maybe on example you feel you are over weight, the algorithm sends you pics of thinner people.

It just adds to more stress on something you may not have control over.

That coupled with people being nasty, using social media to bully and be nasty to others. But that is a social issue, i think social media gives people that platform to be nasty via a platform rather than to someone's face.

There is some sort of belief you need to look a certain way to be successful, people judge you, a lot of pressure on younger teens whos bodies are still developing.

@jessica@mk.absturztau.be @Moon
I know, but I get the feeling if there was a game like that, you would like it.

@Moon

@jessica@mk.absturztau.be would probably like this game.

hello everynyan!!

for two years i've been developing a project known as MegaGRRL. it's a portable sega genesis music player that uses the original sound chips, and plays VGM files from an SD card.

the portable version is still in development, but recently i designed a simplified, desktop version of the player, and i'm happy to announce that the schematic, PCB, firmware, and 3d print design files for MegaGRRL Desktop are now available for anyone to build.

if you're an FM synth nerd or just a fan of chiptunes, check it out!

@icedquinn @abloo OK, that sound better than some of the things that are popular now.

@aral I already moved from Github to Codeberg 2 weeks ago...

Reasons:
a) Codeberg is not Microsoft
b) Codeberg is a registered association
c) Codeberg is located in Germany/EU
d) Codeberg is active in the #Fediverse as well at @codeberg

🙂

@ruina That is a good way to reflect on what you are using and a way to reduce / delete unused accounts on services no longer used.

@professortom @sigma @pamby1

Well yeah, in my case there was no rush and I was in Canada on a 1 year working / travel visa thingy so i had the time for that trip.
