@aral I can see your point here, one of my arguments is to suggest focus on what we want people to do, as in use the fediverse, tell me now to use Facebook isn't telling me what to use.

@eff Maybe you can share findings with the Fediverse too, there may be some ideas that can help us take the Fediverse forward.

@fsfe @kirschner Ah ok

@Aman9das was asking about books on free software for children so they may be interested in the publication.

Are there any plans to port any Mastodon apps to the pine phone @PINE64 OS

pine64.com/product/pinephone-b

So far there is one for Sailfish, (as well as Apple, Android and desktop)

@shadowfacts

It would help in the UK if we had a LEADER capable of actually LEADING.

@aral@mastodon.ar.al @takao@shitposter.club @chinkies@poa.st Yeah basically. A lot of people are happy that I'm providing fedi instances for them. I'm filtering out nasty stuff like spam and illegal stuff so their timelines can stay clean.

@fsfe Are there any plans to create an English translation of Ada & Zangemann ?

URGENT: Starting Dec. 1st, Russian ISPs have started blocking access to Tor. We've also learned that Roskomnadzor, the Russian gov't responsible for censorship, intends to block torproject.org.
We need your help NOW to fight censorship!

@newsbot hmm, I wonder of renaming themselves to Meta is designed to circumvent this sort of thing

@carl @aral

Well yeah, but I am not sure how much of our colonial history is taught in schools.

We did after all bring railways to many countries.

Most of which seem to work better than our own rail ways do here.

@carl @aral

Interesting paper on this on archive.

Ethical Exploration and the Role of Planetary Protection in Disrupting Colonial Practices

@carl @aral Yeah, I just hope all this colonial stuff does not get cancelled, we need to learn about it so that hopefully the same mistakes are not repeated in the future.

@aral Quite a few Commonwealth countries have laws that make Homosexuality illegal.

I wonder how many of these countries are linked to what is being mentioned here.

As usual this is not even in the news.
