@roipoussiere
Cool these things could be a life saver, I have several broken clips on perfectly good cables.
Somewhere, someone finally made this and I think it's beautiful: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4687836
@icedquinn Ah ok, I was just guessing here.
I try and use OpenGPG but very few people use it, i am ok signing e-mails, it just seems to confuse people who try and open the .asc file.
Sounds good, we need a full rewrite of everything I guess.
kinda makes me think we need web4.0, using say different ports (secure only) min size cert keys say 2048 bit or higher,. and rebuild everything better.
@kaia Mastodon is written in Ruby IIRC.
@icedquinn Indeed, educate people on good passwords, and using 2fa (which for me is a pain) but if it was a job requirement, employer can provide the phone for it.
But there are alternatives such as Yubi keys (or something) smart cards etc.
So long as we have clueless managers in charge we are doomed.
Be prepared yes, I am sure nukes should be the final option though surely, as all it does is lay waste to the target who in turn lay waste to you.
As they conclude on the war games movie. There is no winner.
@zleap @icedquinn
You're mostly right. Thing is, you should always be willing to use nukes first. You just never say it out loud.
@icedquinn While the west has been dithering China has been not only building armed forces, but also the ability to attack the west IT infrastructure
We are trying to get more cyber security experts, but other countries are ahead of us massively.
@icedquinn It is that sort of talk that will cause Russia and allies to use the nukes first.
Who the hell votes these idiots in to power ?
So far I don't think Russia is the real threat, they have said they have no intention to invade, it is western paranoia driving this.
Given the lies and misinformation around the lockdown parties at 10 Downing street, the UK alone is hardly in a position to try and accuse Russia of being dishonest.
I would guess gnome would map this to other keys perhaps the cursor / arrow keys.
As far as I understand it, a vaccine stops YOU developing more serious illness. A vaccine will not stop you passing something on to others.
Not sure, I don't understand the technical side of this enough.
@thor @bonifartius I agree there, Linux also needs to be shut down cleanly, where as I guess embedded systems may not so much, (just turn off) I think cutting power to the Raspeberry Pi during an IO operation can cause a lot of issues.
What about blowing an LED up, actually in fact i made a led traffic light board and ended up replacing a 270 ohm resistor for the yellow led with a 330 ohm to give it more protection.
Well at 14 we probably don't know that eh. :)
Yep, done that a few times, also chemistry sets are fun too
what happens if I mix chem A with chem B,
Just don't try what I did at about 14, which was to try electrolysis on Sodium Chloride solution in an Aluminium container. :)
Probably the old circuity which ages and changes due to it's environment so the sound ends up pretty unique i guess.
