With regard to sensitive content, would it not be better to set mastodon so it hides pictures, and requires a user to click to view

Sure content warnings can also be used, but if you know that picture A contains nudity, you choose to click and open it.

@ojala

But LaTeX just works. I get irritated when word processors think they are being helpful trying to capitalise http to Http

@elvio Old artwork on a new platform is new artwork to the people who see it first time.

Great stuff.

@smthomasy Are you using Overleaf / LaTeX for writing ? It would be great to have a community on here to help people learn and develop via peer support.

@albinanigans

I am white but see Mastodon as a friendly, culturally, diverse place. All are welcome and treated equally.

There are people posting interesting content, if I am interested I follow and interact..

I hope to see diverse content, photos / videos of different places so we can see connect with more of the world rather than what mainstream social media feeds us based on what their AI THINKS we want.

To answer your second question :

Under your profile there is import and export, from there you can download your data and import
into another instance.

I have not done this, but if I am sure others will help with this.

PS sorry if I have not put the descriptor text in the image, I am not quite sure what to type there.

Welcome.

@smthomasy Defiantly the way forward.

@stux I second hat, we just get on really well and can have constructive debates and agree to disagree as we won't always agree on something.

@PawelK LOL A taste of what they give to others.

If you click on the 3 dots ... below the post, you get a menu up where you can block the domain.

Hope this helps

@ryanlowery

I would guess a lot of news articles are copyright to the news agency that makes them (even local news) they could join here and share content.

@steveep1000000

These cards have the PASS logo on so they should be good for DBS checks et,c Ideal if you can't afford a passport or don't plan on needing on yet.

Worth the investment.
