Psst... Seems like the Chinese Government wants to censor this song all over the world.
What say you, Fediverse, should we repost this a little bit?

While I understand the message here, we need to accept the fact that Hong Kong was handed back to China in 1997, it was done so as we, the British, had an agreement (historic, but still legally binding) to do so. I think at the time that original agreement was signed / Made, Chiha was not ruled by Comunism, which if I understnd it was due to Chairman Mao back in the mid / late 60s.
So we had no way of knowing what the sitation would be in 1997 but we had a duty to honour that agreement, regardless of consequences.
All we can do is ensure that we keep relationships with China such that, we can talk and hopefully allow Hong Kong to retain some degree of autonomy and it is perhaps in Chinas best interest to do that, as it can be advantageous, but China still calls the shots as it is part of China now.
Ok I'm gonna bitch about my research for a sec because I'm stressed out from our meeting today.
I contend that an affordance of literacy is actually identity, ie: sense of who you are in an information space affects where you think you can go.
But now we're back to "You're developing a framework for design thinking of literacy in complex information spaces" and I hate that bc we're back to reducing things to systems, which.
I mean safety is social.
@zleap yeh, you can bet that Ukraine are already taking advantage of it, especially in the western areas of the frontline
It turns out that this isn't the first time RHEL non-compliance concerns over the GPL have come up, let analysis from @conservancy
"Due to this ongoing bad behavior by IBM's Red Hat, the situation has become increasingly complex and difficult to face. No third party can effectively monitor RHEL compliance with the GPL agreements, since customers live in fear of losing their much-needed service contracts."

If nothing else, this gives Ukraine a chance to regroup and rearm etc, a chance for some possibe respite from fighting.
Who would have predicted Donald Trump, getting to be US president? Other than the Simpsons of course.
Perhaps the Wagner group should take a leaf from Saddam Hussains playbook. Back in 1991, Saddam forced RAF pows to go on camera and denounce the invasion. Granted they were clearly beaten up in order to make them do this.
The Russian people clearly need to be told the truth as to what has been going on in Ukraine, it has been a war all along, soldiers are badly equipped and losses have been huge on the russian side alone. Importantly say that you, the russian people have been lied to all along.
If this comes from the current russian military,it may be something that the russian people actually listen to. But will then focus anger on the leadership.
Given the losses, this is a lot of Mothers who have lost sons, or husbands for what seems to be to satisfy the ego of the leadership, they won't be happy and may actually rise up.
Can this be compared to the final days of world war 2? It seems there are some parallels, given I think the Russian military and others know they are finished.
If this is correct, then it would suggest the Russian military are not happy with the leadership (which goes without saying, given the death toll, the fact ) but to the extent they are willing to just stand to one side, it is clearly self preservation on their part
BBC news reporting putin accusing wagner of mutiny.
As of now 7:59 24/6/2023 Putin is addressing the nation. (BBC news)
Girkin claims that Wagner forces have entered Voronezh also without encountering resistance. Next stop Moscow? https://t.co/Wwqx4gM3Qm
He has probably legged it to some bunker. He knows he has finished, accordinfg to the BBC wagner want to take out the Russian military leadership, given he I presume, like POTUS is the commander in chief, he is probably on that list.
Well perhaps the Fedi can fill that void in some way, I appreciate all the news stories about space and science on here.
Granted there are no metrics to measure how many people have boosted or favorited, so it is harder to measure, however hopefully boosts etc are accompanied by actual comments, questions etc which would provide some measure of interaction.
Watching the Watchers with Nancy Grace Roman
Astronomers have discovered thousands of planets using the transit technique, watching how distant stars dim as a planet passes in between us and the star. A small group of stars is lined up so alien astronomers can discover Earth using the same transit technique. In a new paper, researchers suggest that the upcoming Nancy Grace Roman Telescope should scan this Earth's transiting zone for habitable planets. If there are other advanced civilizations there, they should know we're here and would be the ideal places to search for signs of intelligence.

No problem, I have asked in another post about renaming files. What I don't want to do is rush and lose important data or settings in doing so.
yes, they have done a really good job with this and something similar is also planned for Paignton Seafront, as that is at risk of flooding due to sea level rises too.
