@realTuckFrumper

A lot of people are very very lucky with this. Hope the injured recover fully.

this official publication from the UK Health Protection Agency assessing the dangers of toxic combustion products has the document title "Microsoft Word - HPA-CHaPD-004 WITH A BIT OF LUCK FINAL VERSION"

Dig a pony , from Let it be

I admit did have to play 2 tracks from let it be to figure it out

Lol @ my mind

People talking about twitter changing to X.

So twitter.com becomes X.com?

"XCOM (originally called X-COM) is a science fiction video game franchise featuring an elite international organization tasked with countering alien invasions of Earth."

@taylorlorenz

It is hard for us to capitalize on this as our stance on advertising is different. I personally don't have a problem with a company setting up their own instance, and posting updates ( as you would with a blog).

What I would strongly object to is hashtags being harvested to create data on me for the sole purpose of advertising. Making posts that are one way so you don't get to interact with that company on here.

It seems despite the rebrand X is just same old Twitter.

Musk’s rebranded Twitter is offering extremely hefty discounts to advertisers while simultaneously threatening them that if they don’t spend at least $1k on ads in the next 30 days their brand will lose its checkmark and they won’t police impersonation wsj.com/articles/elon-musks-re

@glynmoody

This seems to be happening more frequently, are there any stats on when / where this is happening. It is easy to jump to a conclusion that it is linked to climate change / ocean temperature rises, but without evidence this is not good science.

There has to be a reasn for it, one theory was that all the human made noise in the ocean impacts their ability to navigate, again without science based evidence this is just an idea.

"Megaconstellations of satellites are ruining the night sky for everyone"

Great presentation, with lots of data but easy to follow, by Prof. Sam Lawler, @sundogplanets.

My comments:
The hubris of Megaconstellations of Satellites, like #starlink didn't just happen, because someone created cheap rockets; the FCC licensed it, and will continue to do so in the future. And now others follow this example, because the money involved is big.

An all too familiar new hockey stick:

@chrismessina

Is this 'just' text posts? Or can users do like they can on here and add pictures / videos etc. I'll stick to fedi, post video to peertube, see link here on mastodon and boost / comment.

@vowe

So are files stored on the server at X hQ going to be known as The X files, time to call Mulder and Scully in to investigate.

@PavelVoronezh@techhub.social @ned @rolle

We have had many conversations. debates on Fedi without resorting to insulting each other.

I just find it more pleasant here.

Harold, how are you doing today?

(Please do not respond to poll unless you are my next-door neighbor Harold Jenkinson, but please boost to make sure Harold sees this.)

@PavelVoronezh@techhub.social @ned @rolle

I think what we are trying to say is here, people express another opinion but in a nicer way.

@Sheril

With the upcoming moon missions and need to take on scientists to work on this, could this potentially have an impact on the Moon mission programe, if people won't move to Florida,

Hopefully by 2025 the people of FLorida will have come to their senses and voted DeSantis and his mob back in to hell, where they belong.
