I would add that following on an independent platform may be a prudent safety measure, too.
With #FossilFuel companies pushing legislators to criminalize environmental activism, centralized platforms like #Google #YouTube and #Amazon #Twitch are likely to become more and more dangerous to activists. Even if everything you do today is legal, who knows what will be next year / in 5+ years?
The real purpose of #centralization/#surveillance is not personalized ads, but control.
I think we could all be impacted by this, we have spent the last 18 months or so being told about the horrors in Ukraine, now we are facing this, on top of that, we have floods, fires and global warming to contend with.
People are going to end up with PTSD and like you said depression from all the negativity in the world.
At least on here, you can to a point avoid a lot the reporting for a while.
A good reason to get support groups on here, if you do need help please reach out to people providing mental health support.

The horrors coming out of Israel and anticipation of much more to come in Gaza leave me depressed and give me a sense of dread and I live thousands of miles away and won’t be directly impacted. I can’t even imagine the trauma that people in the region must be grappling with.

So My Q to Braverman is are innocent civilians from BOTH sides going to be clasified as Refugees or illigal migrants given there is no safe place to claim asylum but to stay in the region is going to end up too dangerous.
If it is the 2nd of the twp, despite fleeing a war zone, just to let them know that the supreme court are going to soon rule on Rwanda. so they may turn up here and be deported to rwanda anyway.
Great way to treat people, esp as back in WWII the UK gave sanctuary to jews escaping WWII

Governments need to be seen taking one side or the other, western governments want to stand by Isreal no matter what as any criticism is classed as anti Semitism.

What's happening in Gaza right now is a brutal, unequal conflict where both sides are committing atrocities and war crimes. The international community should be actively working towards an immediate ceasefire.
Why are governments taking sides? Do they think it's a football match?
A peaceful solution is the only way forward,
What is coming is just more bloodshed,.
If the reports that Netanyahu was warned but ignored that warning are true, it kind of shifts things a little as people will argue he let it happen, sacrificed a few 100 people as an excuse to bomb Gaza in to oblivion.

I don't get. Why are we all raising flags? What's the use in picking a side in a murderous endless war which the people don't want and nobody has ever won?
I stand with anybody and everybody who wants an end to the cycle of violence and a peaceful solution in the Israel-Palestine conflict.
This is quoted from a Daily Mail headline, but the wording to me is just dangerous.
"Israel PM Netanyahu vows to 'change the Middle East…what Hamas will experience will be difficult and terrible' after defence minister said 'we're fighting animals and we act accordingly'"
What I see coming is a massacre of anyone living in Palestine, mostly women and children and innocent civilians, unless power, water and other supplies are restored then the death toll is going to be much higher,
Even George Bush didn't use this language after 9/11 he said something like 'we're going to get the folks that did this'
I agree children are not the ones bombing anywhere, they are innocent.
Not just water, but food, medicine and essential supplies.

Good article, and I agree revenge is not the answer. What I see coming from this is massive bloodshed of civilians, while the world looks.
