Question time!
Julian Alvarado-Gómez asks:
Many future extremely large telescopes won't have polarization measurement capabilities, how does that limit the prospect of applying your technique?
Svetlana answers:
Spectral features and total flux can provide a lot of information already. She emphasizes that contrast to the stellar signal is an important observational factor.
Next up: Svetlana Berdyugina will give a talk on Exoplanet Surface Structures

When did #science and #philosophy become two different things? I get the impression that from the ancient greeks up to enlightenment they were the same, at least broadly. I'd imagine someone has been studying this, but I have no idea. I guess it was somewhat gradual, but more importantly I'd like to know how it happened, what was the driver. I'd be curious if someone can direct me to references on this topic. #Epistelomogy #PhilosophyOfScience #HistoryOfScience #History
And reminder: Rev. Dr. King spoke about American imperialism, capitalist exploitation, and more. He understood that all systems were interconnected.
