How to Debug

https://philbooth.me/blog/how-to-debug

I'm working on quite a complex workflow right now that involves numerous moving parts and if/then results.

Does anyone know how I could make an interactive flowchart style diagram for other techs to click through based on their scenario?

A normal flat flow chart would be fine, but could seem daunting to some.

If they only saw the flow relevant to their decisions, that would be ideal.

Do I (or you) know anyone with experience in #enzyme #thermodynamics?

I need some input on this topic for one of my #research projects. Happy to offer #coauthorship if things work out.

Boosts are strongly appreciated! 🙂 #collaboration #StructuralBiology #biophysics #biochemistry

Wondering what I should do with these books. They are all in my room at my parent's home. Lots more there.

@zleap

You are right, and the whole point is that the people who demand the unreasonable, the unethical, and at times the blatantly illegal, are shit people who do a shit job at shit companies with shit policies.

A brilliant essay by @pluralistic on #enshittification, a process through which online platforms (Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, etc) first provide (free) value for their users, but at the same time trap them to their services — which enables them to enshittify their products to extract all the money they can from their entrapped users.

A must read if you want to understand the business logic of the corporate-run networked world around us.

I could have been there. My friends and family could have been there. We all could have been there.

And, unless we come up with real, actionable solutions to gun violence, we are all at risk, everywhere.

It doesn’t have to be like this. We don’t have to live like this.

Monterey Park was my first home. I’ve spent much of my life in that city. There’s a tangled history of Asian-America in MPK that’s unique and somehow universal. There’s so much to be said for the community there. I am full of sorrow. And I am furious it has come to this.

In the British Naturism magazine from Spring 2021 (issue BN 227) Mrs NT had an article published. Winter 2022 (issue BN 234) and it's my turn. It includes this photo of me, #naked snorkeling in Fuerteventura. 🤿 #naturism

For my latest piece for CNN, I read the fascinating new book by Dan Levitt, "What's Gotten Into You," and asked him about how cataclysmic forces in the early universe helped forge the building blocks of all life. Destruction, whether in the form of colliding stars or meteor strikes, can sometimes be a uniquely creative process.

Answering this in public:

Their endgame is preserving capitalism, for perhaps three more generations, in the face of quite literally, the end of the world.

The planet is boiling; capitalism goes or we do. The capitalists have made their choice, but they are quite aware that seven billion lemmings are not going to vote the preservation of a wealthy ruling class ahead of pure survival.

Ergo, you must not be allowed to choose. Hence, fascism.

Is it nuts? Absolutely. But LOOK AT OUR RICH PPL?

Have we not built a culture that prioritizes growth and the accumulation of capital above all else? Have to not unleashed the free market on all aspects of society? have we not LEGALLY codified the pursuit of short term profit, over long term sustainability at every turn?

So, then; who is the crazy one? The rich people who are following their clearly stated intentions to their logical conclusions in the face of this crisis? Or folks who expected them to choose anything else?

@zleap @Fayedray Of course you are. If killing 20 6&7 year olds at Sandy Hook wouldn't force a change in the law, nothing will. Sorry to be pessimistic ☹️

This morning we share the anger and sadness as yet another mass shooting, in #MontereyPark, CA, rocks our nation. While the investigation is ongoing, our hearts and our solidarity are with those in the #AAPI community who are celebrating the Lunar New Year, who are grieving the loss of friends and neighbors.
