I read recently of a foreign visitor to Auckland airport who kept hearing bizarre announcements for a passenger to make their way to the 𝘔𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘯.
It took them some time to realise the kiwi announcer was asking the passenger to go to Domestic Check-in. 😂

Pardon one admin thread before we sneak in one more track and artist update before everyone goes wild on BC Friday.

It was impossible to anticipate both the resonance for a discovery project that celebrates things quite a bit different from most platforms, and the amazing love and support you are all showing for each other.

Some of you super folks may have noticed we hit our target to fund the infrastructure thru our first go live anniversary in JAN 24 including the new 3rd channel!

One of the hardest lessons I’ve had to learn, but it changed everything.

By the end of the decade I hope there are coop/decentralized versions for every single service. A coop version of esty called artisans.coop is launching in October. Coop ride is a coop version of Uber. The Fediverse (ex Mastodon) is a free decentralized open sourced version of social media. I want to be able to completely drop out of the corporate owned world or as much as possible.

New indictment dropping soon.

Presumably it will as usual have absolutely no consequences.

Meanwhile people go to prison for life for stealing a backpack or a frozen pizza.

Ask your government for leadership and you will get a more livable, green and joyful city 👇👇

BREAKING: REPORT: Grand jury issues indictment related to Jan 6 insurrection. Details when available.

@w7voa Trump is right! They SHOULD have arrested him 2.5 years ago!

And I agree that it’s wrong to prosecute him in the middle of the campaign. We need to have the trials now! Quick trials! Quick trials! He always says the Chinese judicial system is best. Quick trials!

Hey fediverse! The @thunderbird team is looking for an SRE to help us do amazing things! Apply or help spread the word!

It took 2 years to build this size of Direct Air Capture (DAC) plant which sequesters CO2 out of the air.

It will apparently capture the equivalent of about 36 seconds of global emissions annually (or 5 Taylor Swifts as we can now call it).

Now we just need another 8 million of them.

Come on guys...even they must see this isn't going to work.

Hey folks!
I thought today of all days, when a new social media platform is grabbing all the attention, would be a great time to tell you all I have a brand new website! Let’s get anachronistic!

How a Microbial Evolutionary Accident Changed Earth’s Atmosphere https://www.wired.com/story/how-a-microbial-evolutionary-accident-changed-earths-atmosphere
An extra membrane that once had digestive functions let marine microbes boost their yield from photosynthesis. Today, they’re responsible for locking carbon in the ocean and putting oxygen in the air.
