More students found my YouTube channel from previous years teaching. They're now asking me to start posting videos again so they can watch them.

Seriously? New Environment Sec has taken money from major backer of a climate-denying think-tank. Why did Barclay accept donation? What discussions has he had with Hintze before & since receiving it? Does he agree with GWPF climate-denial? We need answers

Interesting results from the British Academy's experiment of randomizing the awarding of research grants. While all the proposals eligible for funding have passed a high quality threshold random selection of what proposals receives funding increases diversity quite dramatically on several dimensions.

Oh God. I had something close to that as a child. I grew up so far out in the boonies there was hardly any light pollution at all and I saw the Milky Way every night it was clear.

Breathtaking every time.

Oh look. Just like Reddit, OpenSubtitles is going to limit their API and try and charge people for access. All their subtitles are user submitted and they have the testicles to try and profit from this content which often helps deaf people enjoy movies.

"Trump's plans for giant detention camps, a new Muslim ban and mass expulsions of millions is a test.

Trump and Stephen Miller are testing the public's willingness to accept an agenda built on white nationalist sadism.

It's extraordinary that Trump's advisers would openly advertise plans that are more & more extreme. They think disapproval of Biden on immigration gives them an opening to sell the public on unrestrained savagery.

Trump and Miller seemed determined to openly flaunt their push into white nationalist savagery and violence. They probably think the public will rally behind this vision.

I doubt that will happen. But Dems will have to make the stakes clear."

NEW: A children's tablet came pre-installed with malware, software with a "extensive system level permissions to download whatever application it wants,” and five-years-old Android.

Was on sale at Amazon and Walmart, they have now taken it down.

The company that makes it, Dragon Touch, is listed on an official Android page as a “certified” device that’s been “tested for security and performance.”

Google is reviewing "whether the manufacturer's device meets the security standards required for Play Protect certification.”
