Sadly, we’re cancelling this as our web host has suffered a distributed denial of service attack and things are still shaky with a couple of hours to go.

We might reschedule or pick things up again next year.

@TonyStark Unfit Presidents do a lot more damage than people think.

@peertube @zleap Interesting idea. 👍
As a workaround, I guess you could upload the video to #peertube as private, and publish it manually later. 🤔

NB: support and discussion about peertube happens more on the #discourse #forum here :

(You’ll need an account to interact afaik.)

In case you missed it, a couple of years ago Mastodon made an animated introduction explaining how it works.

✅ Mastodon's official promo video is available on PeerTube at https://tilvids.com/videos/watch/887e7b95-a6b1-4df1-83fd-d5c47f17ec4c and on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPSbNdBmWKE

The same video is also useful for explaining federated networks in general.

Age is not the issue. Competence and character are. You can be 90 and if you're capable, there shouldn't be a problem.  There are lots of 30-year-olds who fail the competence test.

Voters elected her. Let's not be the party who wants to overturn our own people.

Most of the progressives who are whining about age would be shimmying like a cat in heat if Bernie Sanders had been elected, or chosen for a Cabinet position, anyway.

We’re currently monitoring the situation and preparing for our Small Is Beautiful live stream with @laura but there’s the chance that we might have to cancel it if the DDOS attack continues and our site is down.

Will update you.

So I don’t use Chrome but I have Ungoogled Chromium (https://codeberg.org/Eloston/ungoogled-chromium) as certain things only work under Chrom(ium) and I only just realised Google requires a Google account to install extensions.

Wow.

Hint: You can bypass this restriction using this the Ungoogled Extension Installer: https://github.com/UnnoTed/Ungoogled-Chromium-Extension-Installer

The lengths we have to go to in order to protect our privacy from basic everyday things is ridiculous. We need fundamental change. Surveillance capitalism needs to die.

China just delivered moon rocks back to Earth, marking the first time in 44 years that lunar samples have been brought back to our planet. It also lays the foundation for even bigger lunar missions ahead. https://bit.ly/34jeF17 https://twitter.com/techreview/status/1339297562961080325 #Tech #MIT #China #Earth #Planet
