@freeschool imagine using a device with a timer that automatically stops the cooking process... Microwave, Thermomix, modern ovens, etc.
Why spend more time and potentially more energy when there are already feasible solutions out there?
@freeschool
b) one would have to do the math to see if you are actually wasting money in the long run for not buying the device.
Afaik there are very little things that are actually free in today's world. Cooking on a fire on public property while not paying taxes might be the closest you could get to free.
Then considering the time you have to spend watching the food. Or the amount of times you have burnt the food. Or the amount of times you threw away the food because it was too much. Or the time of how much the idea that you are cooking food is stuck in your mind.
Of course you got the other side of the time needing to figure out what device to buy and how to learn how to use the device.
Wondering if in the long run your would actually save money?
@barefootstache
If it's that close to thinking about it so much and if you might make a mistake anyway (like even after timer rings) then it's probably not worth it or still prone to human error.
For sure I know am counting how much more we write about it from now! Better / more measurable topics await us :]
@barefootstache
a) would have to buy timer
b) gotz no moniez / don't support money in general
c) another device for a cooking device,
Make sense as tool but cooking is also an analog and atmospheric thing - one likes to enjoy cook and doesn't know always when it's ready for x time
BUT against the above I do notice these counters my own points above that:
a) I put mobile alarm for warning me "it's still cooking / check it" for anything long / big (else I put it on low)
b) Old mobiles good for using as timers
AND
overall cooking a lot of food at once and having it prepared for days avoids needing to cook every day and even timers :)
Save energy / Save planet / Be lazy? / cook for a few days as the answer maybe :)
