@zleap sure, though you have to admit that it's rather uncommon for young men to just collapse with heart issues _not_ previously diagnosed.
may be the virus, may be the vaccination, may be something completely different. the point is that it's not thoroughly discussed.
i don't know if you speak german, but that article is really trying hard to steer everything away from the vaccine, even if we know by now that it creates heart problems in men.

@CaptLuke
there is just something very very _off_ about all things related covid.
> Thing is, if it was covid related, I think they'd be fear mongering it like crazy, so I'm leaning away from that one.
yup.
Assuming the data they suggested in the article that about 0.7-3% of 100,000 have heart related issues due to exercise, then it seems quite likely that the data has been cherry picked.
Though as mentioned, the article is definitely avoiding the vaccine topic. There is currently strong evidence that there is a higher chance for men under 30 to get heart issues who have been vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. A hypothesis is that increased stress could trigger this fault, which would coincide with professional athletes.
Air quality was mentioned, which is also a factor that could also cause the stress factor in the hypothesis. One would have to draw out a map and see if there is a correlation or if it just speculative.
The factor that I am missing is the dietary one. It was only mentioned in the article for individuals who had a heart problem on the upper range. It is well known that a good exercise routine won't counter a bad diet.
The study that I am hoping to see in the future is if there is a correlation between your DNA, the vaccine you took (if any), and your gut flora, in regards to expected adverse effects. Like if they could say if you are a male below 30 with at least 20% Scandinavian decent eating at least 5kg of meat per week, your chance of having a heart related issue is 30%. Whereas someone from a Mediterranean decent would have a higher chance.

There is a move to create treatments based on DNA so what you are suggesting sounds like an interesting area of research.
@icedquinn @CaptLuke @barefootstache @bonifartius @disclosetv @marshtackyball @zleap The phrase you’re looking for is “hand wringing”, not “hand waving”

It seems for the vast majority of people the vaccine is safe and there ar e few side effects. From a science viewpoint we need to be open minded and i investigate any side effects so we can learn and adjust things accordingly.
Find out the true links between Covid , vaccines and any side effects.
@icedquinn @CaptLuke @barefootstache @bonifartius @MarshTackyBall @disclosetv
I agree we need better reporting and more access to papers rather than reading some interpretation from a journalist.
Science works well when questions are asked and any anomalies investigated
There is a charity ( I think ) in the UK looking at cardiac risk in the young where people have just collapsed and died.
I think they are undertaking research project in to this
I will contact them ( cry@c-r-y.org.uk ) and invite here, if you could do the same, it could really help with conversations such as this. ==
This sort of thing was happening way before covid. I am going to try and invite https://www.c-r-y.org.uk/ here.
It will be useful anyway but hopefully they can have some input.
@zleap by all means!
@disclosetv
Done, hopefully they will get back.
@bonifartius @zleap @disclosetv @MarshTackyBall
I agree. The medical establishment won't dig into these heart attacks / mysterious deaths and the media won't go counter narrative so we have no way to know now many of these are just cherry picked anecdotes, vs. vax side effects vs. a mystery covid symptom vs. some whole other thing we're missing in the covid hullabaloo. Thing is, if it was covid related, I think they'd be fear mongering it like crazy, so I'm leaning away from that one.
