Ummm the constitution absolutely does protect you from getting punched in the face for being a biggot, but thats another matter...
Punching up means "attack the more fortunate"... if it meant "attack assholes" then I dont really mind, go right ahead, at least figuratively, and in some cases even physically when justified.
@freemo @oliphant I completely get what you meant/mean, about punching up vs down.
I just wanted to clarify that Nazis will get punched in the face around me.
One of my parents was a child in Germany during WW2. I know better than most what Nazi's actually stood for and that's. not. happening. again.
If someone is literally trying to mass exterminate minorities (a Nazi) then by all means, punch away. Thats just self defense.
If we are talking about racists in general who will (and have) lead to nazism I guess thats more nuanced... but I never got into this convo to defend racists, so if they are getting punched in the face I have bigger things to worry about than them :)
@freemo @oliphant While I generally agree, some people get down on their hands and knees and beg to be punched right in their bigoted mouths.
The 1st amendment protects their rights to say whatever stupid, hateful shit they can think of.
It does not protect them from potential consequences.
