This is why we need to keep supporting efforts to undermine the party system and First Past The Post.
(Though to be fair, Joe Biden is actually a good president, and the mainstream media is just not reporting on it)
USA politics
@fredbrooker @raccoon this is kind of ageist. Can you break this down in a way that isn't about age?
USA politics
@fredbrooker @evan
I don't necessarily disagree that we need to see more politicians below retirement age, simply because there's a strong lack of representation for anyone who isn't going to die in the next couple decades, or even has to wait to collect social security instead of having to work, but that's a systemic problem, a demographic problem, not a problem of Joe Biden.
We're asking your issue with Joe Biden himself. Objectively speaking, he's getting the job done.
USA politics
Its not about age, its about senility and mental function... Biden is clearly senile and does not have the mental capacity to function in ANY role, let alone a presidency. The fact that this mental decline is age related is tangental at best.
Trump is a great counter example, he too clearly doesnt have the mentality to be in charge. But his mental insufficiency is in no way related to his age. He was mentally incapable of being in charge even from an early age.

@fredbrooker @freemo @evan
But Biden isn't senile. There's no evidence of serious mental decline. He's acting as he always has.
Remember, Trump was the source of the idea that Biden is suffering from age-related conditions, repeating a lie until it's forced into discussion is basically his primary tactic in undermining democracy and rule-of-law. The stability-hostile mainstream media repeats it because Biden has been effective and stable, the opposite of Trump.
As is probably well known by now.. Biden is a very old family friend of my parents from before I was born. So maybe its just more obvious to me since I've seen his decline over the years and its rather obvious.
But honestly I cant help but think a statement like this suggests you've never seen any of his old content (I mean most of it is highly racist so they dont tend to show it much to democrats).
You can literally just go find any video of him talking 20 years ago, and then watch him talking now and its night and day.. 20 years ago he spoke quickly, clearly, and had no trouble articulating his words or addressing people... Now he spends 20 minutes on stage walking around trying to shake hands with people who arent even there and cant even speak without forgetting where he is or what he was saying.
And no trump wasnt the source of that idea, people have been calling him senile since long before he was even running.

Yea that has no basis in reality and is tremendously obvious to anyone who has followed his older work as I have. As is well known at this point Biden is a long-time friend of the family, he has been coming to my parents home for dinner since before I was born... So obviously to me, someone who has obviously seen him speak in the early years, it is undeniable he is senile.
That said, its really shocking you would say that and actually ever bothered to see how he acted int he past... The only way I can understand how you could say that is if you never saw him speak int he past and just made that up.... but either way easily remedied...
Here is a video of him from the 80's talking, it was just the first hit I got:
https://youtu.be/xRxOldhJ7Sw?si=IiVy2Cao0GO4a-MB&t=16
Meanwhile here is the stuff we routinely get... he slurs his words, looks confused, and often goes off into complete random gibberish... he has been seen trying to shake hands with people who arent there.. yea clearly he has mentally declined.

@raccoon this is a case of giving Trump way too much credit. And it's not like we need to be inflating his ego any farther.
Let me emphasize it: please don't inflate Trump's size on the stage. It only encourages him, and it's exactly what he wants, exactly the game he plays.
No, Trump is not the source of the idea that Biden is having mental issues. A whole lot of us watch him and come to that conclusion on our own.
A whole lot of us wish both Trump and Biden would go away, and so that's why I'm a bit annoyed to see a response like this that serves to keep both of them on the stage.
