@yogthos @swiley @clacke Lot of picture during the propaganda operation, was showed as false by turkish, generally, Turkish nationalists are panturkists. Uyghurs are turk (more than one from Turkey, that some turc tribes invaded in several waves starting from 11th~12th century if I'm not wrong) US asked for sanction against China at ONU. All countries voting for are in NATO, no muslim voted for this, nor turkish country (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkemnistan, Turkey), half voted against this. This is strange for a politic against islamic minorities.

@popolon @clacke @yogthos@mastodon.social
your argument is that the Turkish government agrees with you that the Uyghurs deserved the violence from the Chinese government?

My job involves ensuring that the internet works and works without censorship from *any* government. I should point out that the Turkish government has gone to extremes that most people thought no one would bother to in order to censor the internet for it's people. The Turkish government, as far as I am concerned as a technologist (and not an American, since I harbor an extreme distrust of my own government) is at war with its people.

@swiley @clacke @yogthos If you don't know china, you don't know that Uyghurs are not the only muslim minority. The most important one is Hui, there are also, Kazakhs (turkish too) and Tajiks (persian).

The french one has a bit more, but anyway this is far from being complete.

@popolon @clacke @yogthos@mastodon.social It doesn't matter that there are other muslim groups.

@popolon @clacke @yogthos@mastodon.social Do you want to cite that? It's news to me.

@swiley @clacke @yogthos Voice Of America propaganda, saying that Muslim marriage is forbidden, and mosques destroyed. I didn’t read the whole article. Voice of America (and Voice off Asia, Asian branch), was created by US gvt during Cold War, for propaganda.

@swiley @clacke @yogthos Sorry I don't want to add more link on the Internet to their site and help their propaganda, I will stop to post them. You can use yourself any search engine available.

@popolon @clacke @yogthos@mastodon.social The issue with this is that China isn't allowing journalists into the country so we just have to trust them. Why not let journalists *show* that the propaganda is false?

@swiley @clacke @yogthos I will not restart the same conversation that yesterday, the gvt asked to foreigner journalist to come in China to verify, showed what was so called satellites pictures of concentration camps (schools, town hall, etc..). The reeduction camp was made at Daech time, and count about 10K prisonners, with willing to reinsert them and have a good job, not 1 million.

@popolon @clacke @yogthos@mastodon.social Looking at the reports from outside journalists it sounds like the only thing we have wrong is the scale. China is still running concentration camps for people it has political/religious disagreements with.
