Methane regulations proposed by the EPA could create between 19,000 and 35,000 jobs in Texas, a new report says.
That runs contrary to claims made by Texas officials that the regulations would kill jobs in the state. In fact, oil and gas producing regions in Texas would need a significant workforce to detect and repair methane leaks to meet the regulations.

"That runs contrary to claims made by Texas officials that the regulations would kill jobs"
if I understand things from posts on Mastodon, Texas is a Red, Republican state. This could explain the Officals response that this would kill jobs.
So why such low voter turnout, one reason in the UK is people who are disenfranchised with the system, something that is much harder to overcome.
Perhaps they just feel that they are not being listened to, by either side, so don't see the point?
@zleap @insideclimatenews I don't understand how Americans could see things like school shootings, lack of #ClimateAction, and abortion rights being rescinded and not see the need for them to vote, but our education system seems to have dropped the ball on critical thinking skills perhaps.
@zleap @insideclimatenews
IDK why so many Americans don't do their civic duty and vote nor do I know why so many of them refuse to stop burning fossil fuels despite our #ClimateCrisis. If I could nail it down in a microblog response I'd already be implementing actions to reverse it.
