Honestly, the gov should run their own, official, Mastodon instances.

That way you knew it was legit, if it was from mast.whitehouse.gov or something like that.

If you want to perform different operations on different line patterns, you can use multiple matching/operation statements in awk. Just put them one after the other. So for lines starting with --, print from character 42 to the end of the line and for lines starting with |, print the second column.

All my life I've wanted to learn to code but nothing has ever clicked for me or stuck and made me actually dig in to do the work. I was recently messing around with Swift Playgrounds and that's fun but it still didn't mentally latch. Can anyone here recommend a good place to start?

A new Tusker beta build is out. Among other things, it includes improved timeline state restoration (as noted before, on first launch, the current position will be lost). And for VoiceOver users, it fixes a crash when scrolling through the local or federated timeline.
